my little angel

It's my three-year-old's first day of school today. For the past few days she has been asking me non-stop if today was 'D' day. And I would say, "not yet honey". To which she would always reply "Oh Man!". She seemed really excited about school that I knew she was looking forward to it. I woke up very early today to make sure that everything was set. I had my nanny cook the kid's favorite breakfast treat. Zoe woke up with an excited smile on her face, "Mommy is this the day?" she said. I said, "Uh huh", nodding my head. She jumped up and said, "Yipee!". She ate breakfast with gusto and I smiled to myself...this was going to be a breeze.

NOT! As soon as she finished breakfast, she lost interest going to school. To top it all up she refuses to take a bath! We only have a little more than 30 minutes to get our act together. With a lot of cajoling and pleading she finally agreed to be bathed and get ready for school. That left me with less than 15 minutes to get ready myself. Hmmm, the day has not started yet, but I feel as if it was 5 o'clock in the afternoon already. Here's how she looked after. Nice and clean - with a silly grin on her face.

Before she climbed up the car, she turned to me and said, " I love you Mommy." And just like that, tiredness left my body. All of a sudden I became a little teary-eyed... my little angel...is not so little anymore.

yes priceless is the word =) she tends to be a little moody at times. today was uneventful, her dad and I took the day off from work to take her to school. when asked how school was all she had to say was, "it was okay." not much to digest really. i wonder how she'll do tomorrow though. =) thanks for the visit.

That "I love you" makes it all worthwhile, doesn't it? I hope your day is blessed...but it sounds like it already is.

hi louann, she was her usual self. as if nothing happened. she's not much of a storyteller so I don't get much info up front. you have to ask the right questions to get an answer=) yes time flies too fast... our babies are growing up.
