The Rain

Got this in the mail today, it's too beautiful not to share.

One rainy afternoon I was driving along one of the main streets
of town, taking those extra precautions necessary when the
roads are wet and slick. Suddenly, my daughter, Aspen ,
spoke up from her relaxed position in her seat. "Dad, I'm
thinking of something." This announcement usually meant she had been pondering some fact for a while, and was now ready to expound all
that her six-year-old mind had discovered. I was eager to hear.

"What are you thinking?" I asked.

"The rain!" she began, "is like sin, and the windshield
wipers are like God wiping our sins away."
After the chill bumps raced up my arms I was able to respond.

"That's really good, Aspen."

Then my curiosity broke in. How far would this little girl take
this revelation? So I asked... "Do you notice how the rain
keeps on coming? What does that tell you?"

Aspen didn't hesitate one moment with her answer:

"We keep on sinning, and God just keeps on forgiving us."

I will always remember this whenever I turn my wipers on.

Isn't it ironic that sometimes the children understand life more than adults do. They can categorize things and feelings in neat little boxes and dispose of them whenever they think they are not appropriate for the moment. What beauty it is to be a child again.

In order to see the Rainbow, you must first endure some Rain.

Have a blessed Sunday!

What a lovely mail to receive. People should listen very carefully to what children say as they still see things with purity and innocence. As adults we lose sight of this as we endure the pressures of everyday life, often forgetting the simplicity of many things. Children have a way of putting into words what we fail to see because they have no complications to stand in their way.
Reading that has brightened my day, thank you for sharing it my friend :o)
May your Sunday be blessed too.

you are so right Colin, children have this special gift of innocence and vision of the simplicity of life - we should adopt this once in awhile. I am glad that it brightened your day that way it did mine. God bless!
